چکیده

Selective exotat~on of Kr atoms at the surface of sohd Ar with synchrotron radlatton stimulates the desorptlon of excited Kr atoms (e g., Kr3P1) as well as the luminescence of Kr-type surface centers at hv = 9 998 eV (3P 1) and at hv = 9.881 eV (3P 2) The high-resolution luminescence spectra and the yield curves of the radiative decay channels have been measured. They are interpreted taking into consideration ab imt~o KrAr pair potentmls. A general correlat]on between the desorption mechamsm and the energetic position of the vacuum level is estabhshed for pure (Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe) and doped rare gas sohds

Electronic and geometric structure of doped rare-gas clusters: surface, site and size effects studied with luminescence spectroscopy

The electronic and geometric structure of rare gas clusters doped with rare-gas atoms Rg=Xe, Kr or Ar is investigated with fluorescence excitation spectroscopy in the VUV spectral range. Several absorption bands are observed in the region of the first electronic excitations of the impurity atoms, which are related to the lowest spin-orbit split atomic P1 and P1 states. Due to influence of surro...

The absorption and excitation spectroscopy of matrix-isolated atomic manganese: sites of isolation in the solid rare gases.

This study collects information from absorption and luminescence excitation spectra recorded for Mn atoms isolated in the solid rare gases Ar, Kr, and Xe and presents an analysis of the site occupancy, based on the polarizabilities of the rare gases and the observed spectral shifts. Two thermally stable sites of isolation exist for atomic Mn in solid Ar and Kr, while a single thermally stable s...

THE EXTENDED LAW OF CORRESPONDING - STATES AND THE INTERMOLECULAR POTENTIALS FOR Ar-Ar, Ar-Kr AND Kr-Kr

An inversion procedure is used to obtain from the extended principle of corresponding - states the pair interaction potentials for argon, krypton and its mixture over a tetnperature range from absolute zero to the onset of ionization. The experimentally-reduced viscosity collision integrals obtained from the corresponding - states correlation have been inverted directly to give the reduced...

Probing the photochemistry of chemisorbed oxygen on TiO2(110) with Kr and other co-adsorbates.

Weakly-bound atoms and molecules (Ar, Kr, Xe, CO, CH4, CO2, CH3OH, N2O, and N2) are used to probe the photochemical interactions of chemisorbed oxygen on rutile TiO2(110). Ultraviolet irradiation of chemisorbed oxygen co-adsorbed with the probe species leads to photon-stimulated desorption (PSD) of some of the probe species (e.g. Kr and CH4), but not others (e.g. CO2 and N2O). Without chemisorb...

F centre production in CsI and CsI ± Tl crystals under Kr ion irradiation at 15

We present results of simultaneous in situ luminescence and optical absorption studies in scintillator CsI and CsI±Tl crystals, exposed to very dense electronic excitations induced by Kr ions (8.63 MeV/amu). Irradiation at 15 K leads to the formation of the prominent F absorption band. In addition, several other features of the broad absorption between exciton and F bands were ascribed to an an...
